This committee is made up of members who wish to help project FABA’s image. The committee plans and organizes several special meetings and social events. The committee is chaired by the Associate Vice President and typically meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am.

The Legislative Committee plays a crucial role for FABA member businesses. This group is responsible for reviewing and influencing proposed legislation and regulations for our entire membership area, which includes Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, Caroline and Orange Counties as well as the City of Fredericksburg. This committee stays abreast of local issues that affect the building industry. Members research proposed ordinances and work with local governments to try to bring about change that is satisfactory to members and government. Members of this committee of the committee attend county meetings, monitor state and local government activities and speak at public hearings on items of interest to FABA. They also work in coordination with the HBAV Legislative Committee on issues at the state level. This committee typically meets the third Thursday of each month at 8:30 am.
The Fredericksburg Area Construction Trust Political Action Committee or FACT-PAC is organized to provide financial support to candidates for local and statewide government offices who believe that home ownership should remain a dream that is possible for every citizen of Virginia. The Membership Committee is responsible for coordinating membership recruitment and developing programs to help maintain the existing membership. Emphasis is placed on retention of members through various means such as Spike Club, new member orientation, etc. This committee typically meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 am.
NAHB Remodelers Council
Membership in this council reflects a remodeler’s commitment to responsible business practices, quality construction and reliable customer service. Founded in 1982, the NAHB Remodelers of the National Association of Home Builders represents and serves the interest of more than 14,000 remodeling industry members. Sales and Marketing Council
As a Sales and Marketing Council member, you have access to many perks from the National Sales & Marketing Council, including Sales & Marketing Ideas Magazine. This award-winning publication is a valuable resource for anyone involved in the sale of a new home. Other NSMC benefits are the Network Exchange, the NSMC Hotline, MarketPlan software products, ProNet job networking service, Ad Review and the NSMC online library. Another SMC effort that benefits all FABA members is the “Joint Venture Education Program” which is administered through an agreement with the NAHB Institute of Residential Marketing. Nationally, over 15,000 people have taken the IRM courses, and 25,000 have completed the Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) course. People with CSP under their belts can go on to MSCP (Master, Certified New Home Sales Professional), CMP (Certified New Home Merchandising Professional) and finally to the coveted MIRM (Member Institute of Residential Marketing.
