Fredericksburg Builder Wins National Award for Energy-Efficient, Insulated Concrete Form Home Built in Afton, VA
Fredericksburg, Virginia – February 6, 2020 — The Fredericksburg Area Builders Association (FABA) congratulates David Phelps, II and his company ICF Homes of Virginia, LLC on the ICF Builder Award for Large Residential Home.
The Afton Home, built by ICF Homes of Virginia, LLC, is recognized as one of the most innovative Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) homes in North America. The affordable, energy-efficient design showcases the advantages of building with ICFs. This award is an outstanding accomplishment requiring a high level of talent, teamwork and ingenuity. Judges cited complexity of design, striking architecture, and challenges the construction team overcame to set a new standard for the entire ICF industry.
Winners of the 2020 ICF Builder Awards international competition were announced at the World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas, Nev. Winners are published in the March 2020 issue of ICF Builder Magazine, as well as online at www.icfmag.com.
The ICF Builder Awards are given annually to projects that demonstrate outstanding innovation, quality, and craftsmanship in ICF construction. “The variety and scale of projects being built with ICFs is truly astounding,” said Clark Ricks, executive director of ICF Builder Group and organizer of the competition. “It’s time these outstanding projects received recognition, and we feel privileged to take a leading role in that.”
