2022 Walk for Wishes

The Walk for Wishes are raising funds for the organization so they can continue the mission of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. A wish granter said “I have met with children and their wish families in the Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, and Stafford areas to help determine wishes and worked alongside the staff and families during the wish process.” The 2022 Walk for Wishes is taking place on Saturday, May 21st at City Stadium in Richmond. FAM’s gallery spaces will be filled with fifteen miniature trees decorated by thesecond-grade students at Hugh Mercer and Lafayette Elementary Schools. Each tree is inspiredby a children’s book the students have read in the classroom.FAM is excited to continue this partnership with Fredericksburg City Public Schools. Spotsylvania County’s Ready~S.E.T.~Go! needs your help!

Ready~S.E.T.~Go! needs your help! FABA Members, Spotsylvania County Public Schools needs your help to be able to offer an externship program called Ready~S.E.T.~Go! to students.  In this program, students are paired with a working professional to observe and preview the day-to-day activities for a specific career. Externships are designed for students to learn more about the nature of various occupations and work environments, as well as, a foundation for the education and training needed to succeed. Think of an externship as an extended job shadowing experience designed for students to ask questions, observe, and get a feel for a workplace.
